I usually do this after a full day of makeup or when I know I won't be wearing any makeup that day. Nothing makes me feel more relaxed and content than a clean face, especially when it's soft and when you can smell the products on your face. (It's the simple things...) However, I did this right before heading off to my internship because why not?
So first I wash my face with the poppyseed lavender bar soap from Fiddlefish. This stuff is amazing I kid you not! I started using these products in the beginning of the year when I saw the stand at Artists and Fleas in the Arts District (that day when there was a gunman on the street in front of the flea market. I was so terrified because we were trapped within the gates and this guy had a gun and was shooting upwards before getting shot by the popo. I will never forget that day...) and I haven't stopped purchasing it since. Luckily for me the owner sells at the Silver Lake Famer's Market. She makes this stuff herself and it's well priced so I don't have to keep spending a pretty penny on brand named products. Although some of the stuff I've used have been super great as well. Go check out the website. There are also yummy smelling candles and bath soaks! :) You are welcome in advance!
After, I use my toner water, Eau Roma Water (LUSH), and spritz a generous amount all over the epidermis on my face followed by the application of my moisturizer, Skin Drink, whilst my face is still moist (ew, I said moist). This way, your face is basically slippery.
My lips also get all chappity chapped, so I use Mint Julips (LUSH) and rub away! This stuff is so good. It even smells and tastes great too ;) Lastly, I use the balm from Glossier which is basically vaseline. It came free with the primer moisturizer that I am quite fond of (I'm just loving everything lately), but that's for another routine.
I am so glad that my skin has improved. This time last year, I was on an emotional roller coaster and it was showing on my chin and jaw line. I was honestly so upset because of it, but then I started feeling a little better and eating healthier and drinking more water, which eventually led to my clearer skin. I know it's not a big deal, but it really does give me the confidence to sport the no makeup look most days (however, I do LOVE my winged eyeliner). It's not like I'm trying to impress anyone anyway... or am I? (I definitely pack the fakeup when I think I have the slightest chance of seeing Harold Styles in West Hollywood or something. Can't blame me, my bare face will scare him even more than my made up face!) Anyway, enough of the rambling. That is my routine during this cold cold cold freezing 60 degree weather. I'm sure it will change just as soon as I get tired of it next week... kidding, but probably not.
Until next time folks. Keep your skin moisturized!
Lucia
