I am on a roll! Two posts within 24 hours?! What?! Can you say Lucia "the no life" Ayson? So the point of making a trip to the Silver Lake Library was to focus on college work, but during the first 5 minutes at my attempt to do so, I got distracted by 2005 Paramore and decided to create a playlist based on my taste in music during middle school. (This was pre-Jonas Brothers! Before I became a psycho fangirl and dedicated my life to that 3 piece brother band. #noragrets Oh wait I was in 7th grade.) From the ages 11-14 one could say I was pretty angsty, but over what? I am not sure. I couldn't relate to 99% of these songs, yet they seemed to have given me life. Below I wrote down a nice little list of some of the tunes that occupied memory space in my silver, black, pink, and red iPods. (Yes I had multiple because I would either lose them or they would get stolen.) Highlighted were my favorites that were definitely on repeat.
Looking back, I laugh at some of these songs. I mean, I was obsessed with "Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too" by Say Anything... have you listened to the lyrics? I was AT LEAST 14. Then there are the songs like "My Beautiful Rescue" by This Providence (I actually saw one of the band members at the meadow the other day!) and "My Heart" by Paramore that gave me the feels! My school girl crushes were so silly. However, my taste in music wasn't limited to this genre. I still listened to Usher, Chris Brown, Mario, Jojo etc. which actually makes me want to create THAT playlist.
Music was and still is a great part of my life. It's amazing how a certain song can remind you of the fondest of memories as well as the shittiest moments (luckily I had very few).
I should probably get working, but I want to know if you listened to any of these songs as well?
If so, what were your favorites? LET ME KNOW! I want to walk down memory lane with you all.
I hope none of you are procrastinating like me! But I'm sure you are ;)
Your girl,
Lucia
